Mae Ong, who owned and renovated Liberty Market with her husband Ben from the 1930′s to the 1980′s recently passed away. Mae plays a big part in the long history of Liberty Market and its success over several decades.

You may have noticed many of Mae’s family members and friends occupying the patio in large parties during the days of the memorial services as they came together to enjoy a meal and conversation, remembering Mae.

    Greetings:

Oh what fond memories during my career in consumer finance and banking with Valley National bank starting in August 1955 I used to stop into the market on my weekly travels around the vally on business to have a chat with Ben and his wife Mae and have a great cup of coffee and use the pay phone by the ice chest near the Coke machine on our hot if not scorching summer days.

My sadness at Ben’s passing,my thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish you the best.
